[Mix tapes]posted by pete at 21:42I forgot to mention that I'm also compiling my mix tapes... so far I've included Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Björk. I consider this to be an important task :)
[Preparation]posted by pete at 21:37The good news is that I'm taking some affirmative steps towards being organised. I'm buying a terrific Gemini Macpac, black and 'quicksand' (ie. khaki), 85 L capacity. It's like the one I borrowed from Lisa when I went to Hong Kong, so I know it'll be sensational. I've also organised a bus ticket to get me to Sandra's, and have sorted out most of my Melbourne accommodation.
So that just leaves everything else.

[The panic list]posted by pete at 16:58I think the only thing to do is make a list. I am becoming stressed about the New Zealand trip, as I feel very disorganised at this point.
-big jacket
-gloves, scarf, beanies
-jeans, trakkies, cargo pants
-sneakers, docs (?)
-my three slightly lurid woolen jumpers
-various skivvies, particularly black ones so I can appear bohemian
-crappy old tshirts to wear beneath things
-urgently need to buy socks
-still need to make my mix tapes for the car
-discman
-gameboy advance?? probably not
-warm pyjamas, but then again the damn apartments will probably be heated as hot as hades
-still considering buying a decent backpack, otherwise need to purchase/borrow an alternative
-sort out finances. particularly scary issue
-I wish I could say laptop computer, but I'm not that cool YET!!
-maybe get some snack food for the plane etc. That will do for now. I wonder what I've overlooked...

[NZ]posted by pete at 21:17In less than three weeks I leave for New Zealand. We fly into Dunedin, then spend a week skiing (based in Wanaka), then tour around the South Island for another week. I feel tremendously excited about it, but I'm frighteningly unprepared at this stage. At least I've got a credit card now, and I'm not afraid to max out!! This very blog will serve as my travel diary, so keep your eye here, but only if you want to.
My previous overseas jaunts include Fiji, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia and Singapore. If I feel inclined in the next few weeks I might put some information up about them. It's not like I need to study for exams or anything... :)
